There’s such an escapism that comes with reading books about royals. And since America has no monarch, the books offer a fantasy and fairy-tale aspect to the reading. I read these books to relax, to fall in love with love, and to cheer for the ordinary person finding something extraordinary in their world—real orfictional.
Carol Moncado has a way of creating a fictional world that feels very much real. The non-royal characters are very much normal so when thrust into a royal world, the entertainment is guaranteed. I will read Carol Moncado over and over for the heart, escapism into a royal world, and the sweet romance that leaves me with a smile.
